Spring 2024 Newsletter

This spring the Lord has been adding grace upon grace to so many of us on campus. Major highlights include our SE College Conference, blending trips over spring break, and MIC Night & LIFT events.

College Conference

This spring’s college conference theme was The Greatest Prophecy in the Bible. Through much prayer and Christ’s inward releasing, 12 students and several serving saints attended from Columbia. It was the largest ever SE Spring conference, totaling almost 300 attendees. Three from Columbia were baptized at the conference. We have had thirteen baptisms in CCS this academic year. Many of the students were touched that they are responsible for the building up of the church through their participation in prophesying and functioning. Pray for them to continue seeing how to apply this word in their situations.

Blending Trips

Over our spring break, a group of us took a five-day road trip through the Research Triangle, Washington DC, and Charlottesville. The churches offered us wonderful hospitality, and we were able to blend with the saints from Minneapolis as well. We enjoyed handing out free Bibles in DC and speaking to people about the Lord, as well as visiting the Museum of the Bible.

The next week, a group from Raleigh visited us on their spring break, and we enjoyed taking them to see the local sights, as well as integrating them into the church life through attending the church prayer meeting and taking hospitality with the saints. One sister testified that her favorite part was the church prayer meeting in Irmo.

MIC Night and LIFT

This spring, our topic at MIC Night has been God’s Organic Salvation. We enjoyed hosting Charlotte recently, and hearing the word spoken by our students after having studied and pray-read the truth to get it constituted into them. They are being saved “much more in His life!” (Romans 5:10).

We call our ministry meeting LIFT, and it is more than an acronym. Each week our messages on the book of Genesis literally “lift” students up in spirit that the Lord could work more effectively in them. This spring we began singing more freely at LIFT and introduced the practice of corporate overflow after the meeting. Each night one of the highlights is hearing what our students were touched by from the word.

Prayer Burdens

  • Pray for the release of more baptisms among our students
  • Pray for a holy, faith-filled and loving community to be built up among everyone in CCS.
  • Pray for the students to enter into the burden and service of the small groups of the church.
